What happened
At the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format on September 8, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the urgent delivery of PAC-2 interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system from Bundeswehr stocks. On the same day, the UK announced an air defense assistance package worth £100 million (about $135 million), including Patriot missiles, drones and large-caliber artillery shells, to be delivered through the NATO PURL mechanism and before the start of winter. On September 10 in Calgary, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced at a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the allocation of 350 million Canadian dollars for interceptor missiles for Ukraine's air defense systems, to be supplied through the US JUMPSTART mechanism.
