Oracle, TSMC and Huawei post revenue and price growth amid AI demand
Oracle's cloud business grew 121% to $7.4 billion, TSMC's August revenue rose 53.3%, and Huawei raised prices on its Ascend 950DT AI accelerator by 60%. Qualcomm signed an agreement with Amazon, and ASML secured commitments from TSMC and Samsung to adopt High NA EUV.

What happened
Huawei Technologies Co. has raised the recommended price of the Ascend 950DT AI accelerator by about 60% to 250,000 yuan ($37,300) over the past three months. DeepSeek plans to deploy at least 160,000 of these accelerators in Inner Mongolia.
Samsung Electronics and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plan to begin using ASML's High NA EUV equipment for mass production by 2028 and from 2030, respectively. Intel Corp. already uses these machines, which can cost as much as $400 million.
Why it matters
Huawei faces manufacturing difficulties, particularly limited supplies of high-bandwidth memory. Nvidia has previously notified some of its largest customers of price increases of more than 15% on AI servers, including those building data centers for Oracle and Microsoft. Iren Co-CEO Daniel Roberts said that compute supply is unlikely to ever catch up with AI demand. Goldman Sachs expects U.S. data center capacity to double by the end of 2027 from 2024 levels, and to more than triple by 2030 to roughly 125 GW.

It was previously reported that Marvell Technology granted Google an option to purchase up to $12.2 billion in stock as part of a chip deal. Snowflake raised its full-year product revenue forecast to $6.07 billion amid AI demand. The CFTC requested public comment on compute capacity derivatives, including cash markets, customer protection and perpetual futures.
What's Next
Samsung and TSMC will start mass production with ASML's High NA EUV by 2028 and from 2030 respectively; Huawei will launch the Ascend 950 next year and the Atlas 950 in the fourth quarter of 2026.
