Mutual drone strikes by Russia and Ukraine: casualties and destruction
On the night of September 13, Russian drones attacked western regions of Ukraine, while Ukrainian drones struck an industrial zone in Tatarstan. As a result of these and earlier strikes, people have been killed and wounded in Ukraine and Russia, and residential buildings, infrastructure and enterprises have been damaged.

What happened
On the morning of September 13, Russian troops attacked western regions of Ukraine with drones, damaging infrastructure and residential buildings. In Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil oblasts at least two people were injured, and near the Polish border a passenger train locomotive and a gas station were damaged.
A day earlier, on the night of September 12, Russian strikes on Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih killed at least three people and wounded at least 30. In Odesa, a missile damaged a multi-storey residential building, injuring 17 people, including a 5-month-old child; in Zaporizhzhia a residential building was destroyed, and in Kryvyi Rih an industrial enterprise was hit.
Earlier, on September 10, a Russian drone strike on Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast killed five people and wounded 67, including seven children; two more people were killed in a separate strike on Dnipro. On September 5, a strike on an industrial enterprise in Kamianske killed four people, wounded five, and hospitalized three.
Why it matters
The geography of the strikes included western Ukrainian oblasts near the Polish border and Tatarstan, more than 1200 km from the border. Among the wounded are children: in Odesa a 5-month-old child was wounded, and in Pavlohrad seven children were wounded.
