Why it matters
UNICEF reported that separate Israeli strikes in Gaza killed four children aged 2 to 16, seriously damaged a UN partner warehouse, destroyed more than $770,000 worth of therapeutic food intended for more than 45,000 children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and damaged a water intake and desalination plant in Deir al-Balah that provided water to more than 4,000 people. Save the Children documented the deaths of at least 257 children and injuries to 1,039 over a six-month period in Lebanon, an average of seven children a day.
What changed
The mimile.kz archive previously reported that an Israeli airstrike killed a family of six in Gaza in July, and the Palestinian death toll since the ceasefire was signed exceeded 1,150. Another archived publication recorded that at least 300 children have been killed in Gaza since October 2025, an average of one child a day. Gaza's cemeteries are overflowing: families bury the dead in mass graves, and more than 40 cemeteries have been destroyed.
Who's affected
More than 348,800 people remain displaced in southern Lebanon. Families in Gaza are forced to shelter on a third of the enclave's territory amid destroyed buildings and uncollected waste.
Context
Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir presented a plan to evict about two million Palestinians from Gaza within seven years. The Israeli army also prevented about 100 activists from delivering food and medicine to Palestinian families in Qusra, who have been besieged by settlers for 28 days.
