Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon: wounded, hospital set on fire
Israeli forces carried out a series of strikes on southern Lebanon, wounding two people in Chaqra and clashing with Lebanese soldiers near Deir Mimas. In addition, troops set fire to the state hospital in Mays al-Jabal. Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported numerous shelling and airstrikes on several localities.

What happened
Israeli warplanes struck the village of Upper Nabatieh in southern Lebanon twice in less than 15 minutes. In addition, the Israeli army shelled the village of Eastern Zawtar. There were no reports of deaths or injuries.
The heaviest strikes hit Mansouri, a town near Tyre, where 30 attacks on homes and infrastructure were carried out in 24 hours. Israeli drones dropped barrels of explosives directly on houses. Strikes also hit Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Khiam and Marjayoun.
Why it matters
Lebanon's Health Ministry strongly condemned the attack on the hospital. The ministry called on the international community, the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross to hold Israel accountable for attacks on Lebanon's health sector. Attacks continue despite the ceasefire that took effect on April 17.
What changed
Earlier, on August 5, the Israeli military ordered residents of the Lebanese town of Mansouri to evacuate, then carried out airstrikes and artillery shelling. Lebanon's Health Ministry said at the time that more than 4,333 people had been killed since March 2 as a result of the Israeli offensive.
