Save the Children: Israel kills seven children a day in Lebanon since March
Save the Children has documented the deaths of at least 257 children and injuries to 1,039 in Lebanon over six months — an average of seven children a day since March. In Gaza, UNICEF reported the deaths of four children and the destruction of therapeutic food supplies, while Israeli strikes on Monday killed at least seven people, including two children.

What happened
Save the Children published data on Wednesday showing that since March an average of seven children have been killed daily in Lebanon, with at least 257 children killed and 1,039 injured over six months. These strikes continue despite the June ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. In Gaza, UNICEF reported that four children aged 2 to 16 were killed in separate Israeli strikes. Attacks in Gaza continue despite the US-mediated ceasefire agreement.

In Lebanon, more than 348,800 people remain displaced in the south of the country. In Gaza, a UN partner warehouse was severely damaged, and therapeutic food supplies worth more than $770,000 intended for more than 45,000 children and pregnant and breastfeeding women were destroyed. A water intake and desalination plant in Deir al-Balah that provided water to more than 4,000 people were also severely damaged.
What changed
UNICEF previously reported that since a ceasefire was declared on October 10, 2025, at least 300 children have been killed in Gaza — an average of one child per day. On August 29, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the total death toll from Israeli strikes since October 2023 had reached 73,449, with 174,472 injured. Now Save the Children is recording an average of seven child deaths per day in Lebanon since March, and UNICEF is reporting new child casualties in Gaza.

The destroyed therapeutic food supplies were intended for more than 45,000 children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. The water intake and desalination plant in Deir al-Balah provided water to more than 4,000 people.
